Default Obligatory Manga Thread

Curious if anybody has anything that they're reading at the moment / what they think of it?
I notice (as is something of a standard among the GW community, it would seem) quite a few Naruto avatars, so i'm wondering if there's anyone else besides me that keeps up to date with the new manga chapters.

Aside from that, i'm still keeping current with One Piece, Gantz (not for those with a weak stomach!), and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. How about everyone else?

I don't read a lot of manga in general, and when I do it's less for the story, more for the artwork. Currently I'm only reading one called Fruits Basket. As for anime, well...
Bleach, D.N. Angel, Genshiken, Naruto, Samurai Champloo, Air, Detective Academy Q, One Piece(though I don't know why I bother, but after a hundred episodes its hard to just quit no matter how bad it gets), and in between episodes I'm catching up on older ones I never saw like Inuyasha and Trigun.

I have been sick in bed for several days mostly just reading Crayon Shin Chan and Love Hina (Japanese editions of course ). Often manga fans are interested in Japanese, so if anyone has questions about Japanese language please ask. I love to show off.

I'm reading School Rumble, Berserk and Naruto right now. Can't get enough of these 3.

I don't follow manga all that much, although every now and then I will get the latest lump of chapters of Gantz, Berserk & Beck.

Anime wise, I love Gankutsuou (Based on the Count of Monte Cristo).

I've been wanting to pick up some of the JoJo's series, since it's my favorite anime. Are there any on-line retailers you guys would recommend?

I would say TRSI. They're almost always running some kind of discount or promotion, and i've never had any problems with their service.

Right now I'm keeping up with Mahou Sensei Negima, Tenjou Tenge (which takes forever), and Yakitate Japan. I really want to get the Kare Kano manga when all the volumes are out in the US, and I also want to get Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and XXXHOLiC since I really enjoyed CCS and CLAMP work in general.

I have a few other manga waiting to be read, just been busy lately. They include Angel Sanctuary, Flame of Recca, and Miriam (if you have opinions on those three, let me know).

I like mango juice, it's a nice source of calcium from time to time.

Oh, you said manga. I've never tried manga juice.

If you like series that have a heavy focus on tournament style setups or unusual / interesting fight choreography, then you'd probably like Flame of Recca. The anime counterpart just sort of ends.. though the manga continues well after it, and is a pretty good read in my opinion.

Hmm... first of all. ナルトーな大嫌い! (now with that off my chest...)

Lets see... manga collection...
Gunslinger Girls
all the Gunnm books to date... (battle angel alita)
Ah! Megami-sama (dark horse really needs to learn how to publish faster... lets put it this way my favorite goddess in there is Rind... and she was introduced OVER a year and a half ago... yeah for importers )
Planetes : some of the best sci-fi I've seen in a while!
Kaze no Tane no Nausicaa (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind).
Kimagure Orange Road
3x3 Eyes
Hikaru no Go : decent... good character development and pacing. Though lets face it a book about a classic board game doesn't interest most though.
... others I've got boxed up and can't think of...

Gifts:
A.I. Love you... mixed... definately just as it's billed a less mature progenitor of Love Hina.
Chobits: was decent... the 'serious' stuff behind the story was fun to read at least. Especially the books within books.

Borrowed a lot of other stuff over the ages...
All the Ranma stuff til the end (Viz is taking their sweet time considering how long ago it ended). Lets here it for importers and original books.
Maisson Ikkoku
Honou no Rekka (flame of recca) is decent, I borrowed it way back in the day. Probably the only 'fight' series I really enjoyed. I had no idea someone actually licensed it for here. There's also an old anime series for it (2 seasons IIRC).
Hameln no Violinist : dark humour at it's best... classic. The anime series is even darker and more serious... I rather enjoyed it.
Love Hina - meh... it was funny but obviously immature. Fun if you like 'light reading'

Stuff decent for kids...
I've gotten Magic Knights Rayearth manga for my young niece... try and hook em early .
